David's Inferno: Crazy Wisdom from the Deep Woods will be published in book form in March 2013 by Hatherleigh Press, and distributed by Random House. I'm currently adding posts, subtracting irrelevancies, multiplying edits, and dividing the book into about ten chapters. I'm easily as cheerful as the next person these days. But between October 14th, 2005 and Summer 2007, I had (depending on whom you ask) a major depressive episode with hypomania, brain chemistry gone ballistic, a virulent mid-life crisis, Pluto opposite Sun, raging kundalini, and/or congealed heart ch’i. Or maybe I just got seriously tangled up in the dark woods made famous by Danté. This blog combines contemporary reflections with writing from that time. It may cast some light on the darkness—for me and, I hope, for fellow travelers and the people who care about them.
